Regulations Related to Industry Activities
The Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies’ (SFEE) Code of Practice , which covers the promotion of prescription only medicinal products in Greece in the form of activity, promotion, supply, sale, administration or consumption is based on a Ministerial Decision (Government Gazette 2374/B/24.8.2012) which is integrated in the Greek legal order of the EU Directive 2001/83/EK, as amended by Directive 2010/84/EU.
The SFEE Code of Practice states that advertising medicinal products that are available only on prescription to the general public shall not be allowed. Advertising of prescription only medicinal products to healthcare professionals is permitted.
The SFEE Code of Practice order on the advertising of medicinal products defines Healthcare Professionals as members of the medical, dental or nursing profession as well as all other persons authorised to prescribe, supply or administer medicinal products in the course of their professional activities. Physicians, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, veterinerians, medical laboratory technicians, clinical dietitians, radiographers, medical students, pharmaconomists, pharmaceutical industry employees, medical journalists are considered healthcare professionals according to the SFEE Code of Practice.
The EADV Symposium will be organised in compliance with the prevailing Hellenic Regulations and therefore access to the industry exhibition will be restricted to Healthcare Professionals as described above. Also Satellite Symposia and Meet-the-Expert sessions presenting data or research of prescription medicines will be restricted to Healthcare Professionals only.
